Kevin Garnett to Boston?

July 29, 2007

So just tonight on our weekly NBANoise radio show we were talking about how this had been the most boring week in the history of the NBA (aside from the Donaghy scandal of course). Well, that hopefully is about to change. ESPN.com is reporting that the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves have resumed trade talks [...]

Hornets sign Morris Peterson

July 24, 2007

Morris Peterson, a Toronto Raptor for his entire 7-year career, has signed a 4-year contract with the New Orleans Hornets worth $23 million dollars. I think this is a great move by both the Hornets and Peterson. Peterson found himself buried on the Raptors bench, which was surprising considering what an integral part of the [...]

Darius Miles, a possible comeback?

July 24, 2007

If you are anything like me, you were loving the L.A. Clippers “The Clip Show” back in the day when they had Darius Miles and Quentin Richardson. Two of the up-and-coming starts in the NBA. Young, athletic, and bound to drop an alley-oop slam on your face. And the demoralization didn’t stop there. You then [...]

Steve Francis signs with the Rockets

July 22, 2007

So how good is it to be Steve Francis right now? First he gets traded away from New York, a blessing in itself because that situation didn’t cater to Francis at all. He was buried behind Stephon Marbury and Jamal Crawford in the rotation, and highly scrutinized by the New York media when he did [...]

Yi Jianlian staying in China

July 17, 2007

Today’s news was that the Tuesday’s Beijing News quoted Guangdong Tigers chief, Chen Haitao, as saying that Yi Jianlian would “definitely not” play for the Milwaukee Bucks. Additionally, Haitao had this to say:
“This is not — as media reports have said — because Milwaukee, as a city with very few Chinese people, is not good [...]

The Good, the Bad and Ugly of Free Agency

July 14, 2007

Here are some of my thoughts on the recent free-agent signings:

The Good:
I love the Memphis Grizzlies’ signing of Darko Milicic. No longer is he the human victory cigar as he was in his painfully bad years with the Pistons. Watching him this past season with the Orlando Magic, you could really tell that Milicic’s confidence [...]

Cliff Robinson's notable career

July 10, 2007

I recently came across a small blurb in northjersey.com regarding Cliff Robinson:

Also, Cliff Robinson’s Net career is expected to end this week. The Nets will
waive Robinson before Sunday – when his contract becomes guaranteed for the
upcoming season — unless they can use him in a trade.

While this was not a focal point of the article, [...]

Summer League: woes, and whoas!

July 8, 2007

Woes:
Obviously, Greg Oden has struggled mightily, fouling out of his first game in only 21 minutes of play. The scary thing is, you are allowed TEN fouls in summer league play before you are asked to leave the court. Game two was a marked improvement as he had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks, [...]
