Surprisingly, Yi Jianlian signs with the Bucks

August 29, 2007

Since the inception of this blog, the only guy that I have been harder on than Yi Jianlian has been Stephon Marbury. Yi’s whole ordeal with refusing to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks after they selected him sixth overall in the draft wreaked of arrogance and defiance. However the political aspects involving the Chinese goverment [...]

Kevin Martin cashes in

August 28, 2007

In the 2006-2007 season, Kevin Martin established himself as a player for the Sacramento Kings to build around and the league to recognize as a threat. So much so, that he has agreed to a 5-year extension worth a reported $55 million. Not to bad for a guy who got picked late in the first [...]

League Preview: Southeast Division

August 28, 2007

To me the Southeast Division is a division that is stuck in the purgatory of mediocrity. Almost every team in this division has a decent chance of making the playoffs. None, however, in my mind have a chance to be serious contenders in the East. But some of these teams (Orlando, Charlotte, Atlanta) have young [...]

Kobe Bryant wants you to like him… for now

August 27, 2007

If you have been watching any of the FIBA Americas Tournament this summer – and for those NBA “fans” who haven’t, you should be – you can tell that Kobe Bryant has been absolutely possessed. And by possessed, I mean he’s got a “wont-let-anyone-score-even-if-up-by-35-points” kind of grudge against whatever random, foreign point guard Coach K [...]

August 26, 2007

Reggie Miller has cleared up any and all speculation regarding his possible return to the NBA by stating “That’s it,” he told The Star. “Physically, I know I could have done it. But mentally, when you do something like this, you’ve either got to be all in or all out. And I’ve decided I’m all [...]

August 22, 2007

The FIBA tournament of the Americas started today in Las Vegas, with ten teams sprinkled with various NBA players attempting to win a berth in the Olympics next summer. Team USA has had well-documented troubles in international play during the last few years, including last year’s surprising loss to Greece in the finals of the [...]

League Preview: Central Division

August 21, 2007

For the second installment of the NBA Noise League Preview, I will be taking a look at what to expect from the Central Division. Let me tell you up front though, that this, of all the divisions, is the most difficult to decide on who will come out on top. You have the Cavaliers, who [...]

Eddie Griffin dies in crash

August 21, 2007

I was shocked to find out today that ex-Timberwolves player Eddie Griffin had died in what was called a “fiery crash” from when his SUV collided with a moving freight train last week. Dental records identified Griffin, and his name was just recently released from the medical examiner’s office. Read more here.
I had always considered [...]
