Shawn Marion wants to be traded

September 26, 2007

This post is from Max Haggerty. He is a regular guest on the NBA Noise radio show, and a die-hard Suns fan. Please welcome Max to NBA Noise!

Marion, Marion, Marion!!!
What is going on in your head? I sit here writing about a player that I truly love watching and respect on many levels, [...]

Small print transactions

September 25, 2007

Corliss “The Big Nasty” Williamson will retire from the NBA tomorrow. I was always a Williamson fan. I have a soft spot in my heart for husky-banger-type players – Gary Trent, Robert Traylor, etc. I remember watching Williamson and his huge-ass shorts dominate the opposition in college, while leading the Arkansas Razorbacks to a national [...]

Too many point guards

September 24, 2007

The Houston Rockets have 4 point guards on their roster, each of them deserving a chance at playing time. There is, clearly, a tough decision to make.
One is a trouble-magnet, one was a clutch college player transitioning into a rookie in the NBA, one is a veteran returning to the franchise after a couple failed [...]

The power of the almighty dollar

September 21, 2007

It’s kind of interesting to sit back and think about how fans perceive the NBA. For most, and usually myself included, see the players and the teams and take them at face value. We celebrate their achievements and criticize their downfalls. But sports, in many ways, give us pure outlets that mirror the life lessons [...]

NBA 2k8 Demo is released

September 19, 2007

The NBA 2k8 demo is now available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It looks incredibly smooth. But this demonstrates how eager I am [...]

Stern reinstates Joey Crawford

September 17, 2007

Joey Crawford is back, and ready to give more T’s. The surly, Elmer Fuddish, little guy has made up with David Stern after being suspended for “improper conduct” – which means “giving a technical for laughing at a bogus call.”
Let’s just say I wasn’t all that surprised when I heard that an NBA referee [...]

League Preview: Southwest Division

September 15, 2007

League Preview: Southwest Division
This has to be considered the powerhouse division of the Western Conference, and probably the entire league. All five teams have squads that can compete with the best of them, and all have a legitimate hope to make the playoffs this year. They are strong from top to bottom, which makes this [...]

Everything's gonna be alright

September 14, 2007

First off, I’d like to share with you this interview with my good friend from OPB Radio, Andrew Theen, regarding the Oden situation. Andrew was at the press conference and he gives a good breakdown of what that was like.
It is funny how the world works. Could the Oden injury have aligned the planets in [...]

Greg Oden out for the season

September 13, 2007

That’s the word on the streets. Greg Oden’s surgery today revealed cartilage damage and he will likely miss the entire 2007-2008 season. The earliest he could possibly return would be March, but don’t think the Blazers will rush their future center-piece to get back into uniform before he is ready. This is a major disappointment [...]
