Missin’ the SuperSonics

by Stu Holdren on February 9, 2010

The Oklahoma City Thunder are already surpassing everyone’s expectations, as they are currently in the 7th spot in the West. Kevin Durant is one of the leagues top scorers and is having a season worthy of placing him within the MVP conversation. But how quickly we forget, this team is only two years removed from being Seattle SuperSonics. It’s lonely here in the Pacific Northwest. I for one, as a Blazers fan, miss that I-5 rivalry. I still have a Luke Ridnour Sonics jersey stashed away in my closet, which comes in handy when I’m looking to intimidate the opposition in pick-up games.

Check out this brilliant tribute to the SuperSonics by Manther. Poor Sasquatch, he must really be struggling with his identity and his overall purpose in life.
